Q ; What attracted you to the film?
AK: It is a script that Zoya and Reema have written and that I really like. I just fell in love with the script.
Each one of my film is a challenge, like Dil Chahta Hai, Lagaan, and Taare Zameen Par... I have been films stretching the
boundaries of mainstream films.
Q :Can you tell us about your character in Talaash?
AK: Talaash is a suspense drama, a genre that has almost died in Hindi films. At the core of the film is an emotional
story of loss. I play inspector Shekhawat who is an investigating officer.
Q; Do you see any similarities between you and your character?
AK: We always find answers for all characters somewhere within ourselves. So in an emotional level there are similarities.
Q ;You had said that both Kareena and Rani could only have played their roles in this film. Why do you think that is?
AK: Very good co -actors. Both are responsive and work with you when it comes to acting. You respond, they react instead
of act and that helps everyone's performance.
Q:How much input did you have in the film in terms of producer?
AK: My role as a producer was very limited. As Excel Entertainment, both Farhan and Ritesh are extremely able producers.
Q:You have said the film is a suspense drama. What kinds of themes are prominent in Talaash?
AK: It has emotions and sense of loss at its core.
Q:Reema is one of the few female directors of Bollywood. How was it like working with Reema in comparison to the previous
directors that you have worked with?
AK: Reema is extremely wonderful and capable director. She knows exactly what she is looking for in a shot. Actually
approach is individualistic trait and not to do with gender
Q:What is your favourite song from the film?
AK: Talaash music is Ram and Reema's creation. I am in love with the film songs. They just grow on you. Ram and I now
have worked on Delhi Belly and SMJ.
